Alt Policies
Alt Policies

We understand that, over time, a player may become bored with their main character and decide to start up an alt. To this end, we have created rules to regulate how alts interact with mains in a raid environment.

a. Non-Raiding Alts

Non-Raiding Alts are any alt who you request to be invited to the guild, but do not yet meet Alt Raider requirements (see below). You may request that an out-of-guild alt be invited by asking any online officer, and letting them know the name of your main character. All officers are required to note who an alt’s main is in their guild note upon invite. Non-Raidng Alts are expected to adhere to the guild’s Codes of Conduct as if they were on their main, and any breach of the Codes of Conduct while on an alt will count against the main it belongs to. Non-Raiding Alts are allowed to raid in out-of-guild pick-up groups (or PUGs), and in-guild Alt Raids. Officers reserve the right to deny an alt entry to a scheduled Alt Raid if they believe that their gear is below minimum requirements. Officers also reserve the right to remove an alt from a raid (with fair warning) if they show sub-standard ability in their role. Alts always have invite priority over PUGs in an guild Alt Raid. If an alt is inactive for a period of more than 3 months, it may be removed from the guild.

b. Underlevel Alts

Underlevel Alts are Non-Raiding Alts who are below the level cap. Due to the level restrictions on raid instances, they are not allowed to raid current content.

c. Alt Raiders

Alts who have met or passed class raiding prerequisites (which may include gear requirements, skill tests, and/or test runs through instances or raids), as dictated by their respective class officer, and have requested clearance by their alt’s Class Officer, are Raiding Alts. These alts are allowed certain raiding privileges. First, Alt Raiders are allowed to sign up for progression raids as standby. Second, Alt Raiders have priority over Non-Raiding Alts in Alt Raids. Third, if their alt’s Class Officer agrees, they may be eligible for a class swap (see below). All class officers are expected to keep an up-to-date roster of all cleared Raiding Alts alongside their Raider roster. From time-to-time, an official guild raid leader may request a Raider main to swap to their Alt Raider (or vice-versa) if they are needed to fill a role.

d. Class Swap

A class swap occurs when a player decides that they would like to make their alt take over as their main. Assuming there is an opening for their alt, and both their main and alt’s class officers agree, then their alt becomes a main (gaining the benefits of this position), and their old main becomes an alt. Class Officers may opt to allow an old main to start out as an Alt Raider or Non-Raiding alt, at their discretion. In the event of a Main swap, DKP will be reduced to 10.

e. Friends and Family

A Raider on good terms with the guild may request a Friends and Family invite for their real-life acquaintances on the server. A F&F member is restricted to Non-Raider status, and has the same limited privileges as a Non-Raiding Alt. A F&F member is held to the same Codes of Conduct as a full member, and is expected to follow them as such. If a F&F member meets minimum Raider requirements, they are eligible for a promotion to Raider rank if there is room and their Class Officer agrees.

f. Out-of-Guild Alts

We understand that a Raider might, for several reasons, want to keep their alt(s) outside of the guild, or even in a different guild altogether. For the most part, this is a completely acceptable practice, however we do not condone having alts in other raid guilds. If it is discovered that a Raider’s alt is in a different raiding guild without any prior explanation, said Raider may be subject to an official guild warning. This rule is in place to limit cross-guild drama. If you want your alt to be in a different raid guild, please talk it over with our Guild Officers beforehand.

g. Alt Complaints

If an alt:

Feels they have been unfairly denied or removed from a raid.
Feels that their Alt Raider class requirements are too unrealistic.
Has requested clearance but has not gotten a reply (positive or negative) within one week.
Has been cleared, but not added to the Alt Raider roster or promoted in-game within one week.

Then they are welcome to send their complaints to their Class Officer, the Vice-GM, or the Guild Master/Mistress in order to resolve their issue. Please keep in mind the other Codes of Conduct when making a formal complaint.
