I was absolutely in love with SC1 and have been playing it since I bought it in 1999 I would love to play with you guys etc.... I am going to playing it too, I started playing 1 month after SC1 came out.

Freakin best interpretation of WW2. If that were in a history book, I think everybody would understand and know what happened and actually REMEMBER it.

I'll buy it, but dunno how good I'll be. I've seen so many videos and such about beta, and know a few good strats for placements and such, but don't really know build orders or anything for counters.

Like any RTS, it requires many skrims and replays to see what you did wrong and how you can improve, so I'm sure I'll be on that 24/7.

Do you mean like its easy or too hard currently? Because I haven't played multiplayer yet and in beta some games were damn tough at least after you played your 5 placement matches and had people around your skill level.

I don't plan on touching any multiplayer until I finish the single player campaign at least once.

@Cimara: Apparently the lag was over the top, as usual Blizz not providing enough hardware for the initial rush of people wanting to get on. I'm with Festeer, I'm going to be finishing the campain and trying my hand at AI before I go online... those 6 year olds are tough... I tend to just send in the drones and hope they win, watching some of the micro management of unit abilities that people do makes my brain hurt... (this is also why I suck at PVP in wow...)

I bought the digital version, dialed into my home computer from work yesterday, kicked off the 5 hour download, then when I got home updated with the inevitable patch, and added SC2 to my battle net account and spent 4 hours trying not to blink...

Don't know, but I got a kick out of the "talent" trees and achievements...

I guess the motor cycles have "improved scorch" since you can double their attacks with a "talent"

I'll have to warn you all, though I'm Korean; I don't know how the hell you all multitask in this freaking game... So much managing I get overwhelmed.... So yah I suck... I do hope to get better through the campaign modes... Its more a way for you all to reach me when Im not playing wow or with my 2 year old.

Better than the first?... I sucked at the multi-player because I didnt play the game enough, but enjoyed the single player campaign...

is it just updated graphics, and new units, or is there anything new that is intriguing?

first of all, its 60$...

I don't know, its a game, is it earth shattering and revolutionary, no.

Its got new units, and if you can micro manage the units its pretty cool. They do have interactive environments now, like one level has lava that rises up every 2.5 minutes so you have to mine while the lava is down, and then GTFO when the lava comes back up... but at the same time, you don't get attacked when the lava is up, so you can just chill for 10 seconds... adds an element, but could have been more...

I think thats the general trend really, some nice new elements, but could have been much more and thats what is pissing people off..

For me, its a game, there are 35 terrin quests, and a sub plot line for the protoss. Each one takes anywhere from 25 minutes to an hour so you are looking at 40+ hours of gaming... 1.5$ an hour.. How much is a beer at the bar, and how many would you drink in 40+ hours? I'm enjoying it, but I needed something to do, so...

The big revolutionary changes haven't been produced yet, The largest and most creative part of starcraft is what the fans do with the editor. The new editor is very very very very very complicated I know from trying to use in in Beta. Off the bat on release custom games aren't that great but man when they learn how to use this thing some more maps are going to be insanely awesome. After beating the story mode I can say I loved it, it was as good as the first one (better in fact) and the continuation of the greatest storyline in a game (imo of course) has been put off to an amazing start.

I am not sure about everyone else but I have more than 15hours in it already and I like WC3 I am sure I will get more than a weeks worth of game time out of it just through custom maps. The ladder in SC2 is also much more inviting to all levels of players, if you wanna get hardcore you can and if you just wanna play matches sometimes you can do that too without getting your shit absolutely rocked every time (once your in a league). I expect to get when it is all said in done at least 720 hours of game play in over time I will own the game (based on my play time of SC1) If you like the series of warcraft/starcraft style of game play then its well worth the cost. However if you are an Age of Empires style player it may not be nearly as many hours of play it could be.
